One of the most common symptoms is frequent urination, but there are many others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you\u2019re concerned about diabetes, here\u2019s a list of little-known symptoms that appear early-on to watch for:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Frequent urination<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your kidneys may be working overtime to remove the extra sugar from your blood. This is especially common at night.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Increased thirst<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Along with frequent urination comes increased thirst. That\u2019s because the body can lose additional water\u2014even enough to lead to dehydration\u2014trying to remove excess sugar from the blood through urination.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Constant hunger<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Diabetics don\u2019t get enough glucose into their bodies\u2019 cells to use as fuel. This can cause you to feel hungry, even if you just ate.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Slow wound healing<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When nerves and blood vessels get damaged by too much sugar in the blood, circulation is impaired. This can make delay the healing of even the smallest cuts and wounds, which also increases the risk of infection.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Blurry vision<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Impaired vision or full blindness can be a severe complication of diabetes. If you notice blurry vision in one or both eyes\u2014even if it\u2019s not constant\u2014it could be a sign that the excess sugar in your blood is damaging the blood vessels in your eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Dark skin patches<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you notice soft dark patches on your groin, armpit or the creases of your neck\u2014known as acanthosis nigricans\u2014it could indicate the development of diabetes.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Exhaustion<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Much like the constant hunger, your body may be trying to tell you that it\u2019s not getting enough glucose in your cells to use as fuel.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong> Tingling, numbness or pain in the hands or feet<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Known as neuropathy, damage to nerves can occur if high blood sugar levels affect circulation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 100 million people are living with diabetes.
