Lose weight.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The one common factor of those who have both gout and diabetes is they are overweight. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Extra fat makes the risk of having both ailments more likely. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Losing the pounds will not only reduce the risk but will help you control either or both.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>2. Quit drinking.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are lots of pro-alcohol studies that state moderate amounts can help your heart and reduce your diabetes risk. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Too much alcohol hurts your liver and reduces the effectiveness of your pancreas in producing insulin,<br \/>\nwhich can result in Type 2 diabetes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>3.
