It seems like so many are
involved with CrossFit that it’s almost a sign of laziness to not sign up.

However, CrossFit isn’t for everyone.

CrossFit is high intensity and combines conditioning, strength, and endurance with functional movements that many do in their normal lives every day.

The focus on everyday movements is one reason CrossFit trainers say anyone can do this type of exercise.

One key to CrossFit is competition.

Gyms use scoreboards and post winners publicly in the gym and on their social media pages to motivate everyone to work hard at the routines.

However, those looking into CrossFit should consider three things to see if it’s right for them.

1. You have no physical limitations.

CrossFit is best for those who are reasonably healthy.

You don’t have to be in perfect condition as this exercise can be modified to help people rise from their baseline.

Those who have health issues or physical limitations won’t be able to do CrossFit successfully.

It is high intensity and you can start slowly but you will be expected to kick up the pace.

Those prone to injury wouldn’t do well because the injury rate is 20%.

2. You are competitive.

Some people are more competitive than others and many enjoy the thrill of sports wins.

However, some don’t like the idea of “winners” and “losers” or who have never fared well in athletic competitions.

They probably won’t enjoy CrossFit.

3. You are high energy.

People who have a lot of energy will find that CrossFit will help them push it in a positive, athletic direction.

Some may have a naturally slower pace in their daily life and they wouldn’t do well in this type of class.

It could prove to be a frustrating experience for them.

CrossFit is an excellent exercise for those who want a challenge in a social, competitive setting.

Those who are considering it should visit a gym to watch it and talk with a trainer before making a final decision.

CrossFit is incredibly popular.
