Creating a Meditation Environment

People can benefit from meditating in various ways.

Meditation helps reduce stress, clear your head, clarify your intentions, and organize your thoughts.

The problem for most is getting started.

Meditation has their aura of mystery about it that prevents many people from trying it.

The reality is that getting some quiet alone time is good for body, mind and soul. It doesn’t have to be
complicated to start it.

All you need to do is accomplish three things.

Make a Space

Having a spot where you always meditate will go a long way to improving it in your life.

It needs to be a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed.

You can take a closet and make it your personal meditation respite complete with pillows, crystals, a journal and flowers.

A favorite chair can be the center of it if you don’t want to or can’t sit on the floor.

The most important thing is that you’re relaxed and comfortable in the space.

Focus on Breathing

Being aware of your every breath is key to meditation.

Focusing on your breathing serves several purposes but the primary purpose is it gets your mind off
of everything else.

Take some deep breaths and let your troubles go every time you exhale.

Be Aware

It’s hard to calm your mind when you first start meditating.

Learning to settle it down takes practice.

Don’t get frustrated when thoughts of grocery lists and work duties rush through your head.

Let them pass over you. Don’t be angry with yourself for being distracted.

It happens.

Take another deep breath and start again.

Most people start off meditation with a short 10 to 15-minute session.

That is enough time to calm your body and mind and refresh you to finish your busy day.

You can extend the time as you learn more about the practice and how to keep your mind and body in check.
