How to Meditate with Noise

Meditating requires you to focus, but is it possible to focus if there is noise? Not everyone has the luxury of living in a quiet location.

Some people who live near busy streets in the city, near train stations, airports, and other not-so-quiet locations.

And if that is the case, it might be a good idea to learn how to meditate no matter where you live and what the situation is.

Here is a guide that can help you successfully meditate even when there is noise:

Step 1: Begin meditation by getting into position

Whether it is noisy or not, begin the meditation process normally and choose the posture you want.

You can do it sitting down, standing up, or even lying down.

Step 2: Take a deep breathe

Just breathe and relax.

Don’t think too much and leave everything out of your inner mind, including the noise.

Step 3: Pay attention to one sound only

If it gets too loud, you can divert your attention to one sound surrounding you.

For example, under the loud noise of the city, you might hear your clock ticking or something else.

You can focus on that sound, and completely disregard the other noise.

Step 4: Accept the sound

Try not to focus on how annoying or how you love the sound so much, you can take note of it instead.

Getting into your mental state

Meditation doesn’t always have to be quiet.

You can go into a different state of mind as long as you focus, accept, and just go with it.

It may be challenging, but you can achieve it by practicing.

Just like any sport or discipline, practice can always help.
