How To Dress the Dad Bod To Look Good

A lot of men like clothes but don’t like to shop.

The shop dread tends to be more prevalent as men get older, get married, and have children.

One of the reasons for the dread is the same that women have issues: their body has changed.

The Right Clothes

No doubt exists that clothing designers use their gift with younger bodies in mind.

That makes it challenging for middle-aged men with “dad bods” to find pieces they feel make them look good.

Yet they are there.

Here are three clothing must-haves for fathers who have a little weight around the middle.

1. A suit.

Every man needs one suit to wear for more formal events and to take his wife out to dinner when they have a babysitter.

For those with a little middle-aged weight, a dark, single-breast suit with classic notch lapels is perfect.

Get a plain but crisp dress shirt to go with it.

The key is to make sure the trousers and sleeves are the right lengths.

Investing some money in a good tailor to alter it will make you look like a million bucks even if it’s an inexpensive suit.

2. Get heavier cotton pants for weekend casual.

They don’t cling and will hold their shape.

Add to it with shirt jackets, an open button-down or canvas jacket, and a casual shirt.

3. T-shirts are okay, just pick a good one.

Dads look great in jeans and a t-shirt.

A good choice is a raglan sleeve t-shirt and makes sure the jeans aren’t too tight and fit properly around the middle.

Conclusion

Getting clothes that look good on you and fit will make a man of any age and body look good.

You don’t have to lose weight or get in shape first before treating yourself to a new style.

Your whole family will like your new look too!
