Plenity Prescription Weight Loss Medication

Plenity™ is an oral capsule that promotes stomach fullness and helps increase satiety to help patients manage their weight.

Plenity is made from two natural ingredients, citric acid, and cellulose, forming a three-dimensional matrix intended to occupy volume in the small intestine and stomach area to create a sensation of fullness.

Plenity works directly in the (GI) gastrointestinal tract and is nonsystemic.

Each Plenity capsule contains thousands of hydrogel superabsorbent particles of citric acid, and each particle is the approximate size of one grain of salt. Patients consume three capsules at a dose of 2.25g with water before each meal.

The capsules are ingested and disintegrate in the stomach to release the Plenity particles, which hydrate up to 100 times their original weight. The individual non-clustering Plenity particles fill out about a quarter of the average stomach volume when fully hydrated.

The capsules gel particles mix with your ingested foods, creating a larger volume with higher elasticity and viscosity in the small intestine and stomach, promoting satiety and fullness.

Plenity passes through the entire digestive system, maintaining its three-dimensional structure in the stomach and small intestine before breaking down in the colon.

Plenity eliminates particles not absorbed in the body through regular bowel movements. The water is then released and reabsorbed into the body.
