Biography

My name is Kyle and I’d like to share some information about living with gout.

Gout: Care Instructions from Healthymale.com

As you already know Gout is a form of arthritis caused by a buildup of Uric acid crystals in several joints of the body.   It Causes me great deal of pain, swelling, stiffness and redness usually shown by the Big Toe.  As I continue to live with Gout I’ve come up with some solutions to cope with the pain;

  • Drink Cherry or Pomegranate juice
  • Avoid OTC’s such as Diuretics like aspirin and fish oil
  • Avoid Alcohol (Especially Beer)
  • Avoid eating seafood and red meats
  • Continue to Lose weight,  A “Crash Diet” may cause a gout flair-up
  • Take your medicines exactly as prescribed by your doctor
  • Rest sore joints by using cold compress in the area for about 10-20 minutes

Make sure to call your doctor if:

  • You have developed a fever, after your gout attack
  • If the redness has turned to a dark purple or black in color in the area of pain
  • If your symptoms get worse or are not improving after 3 days

Remember, Follow-up care is a key part of my treatment and my safety, so make sure to be active and go to all appointments.    Make sure to also keep a journal of all foods you are eating and what causes you discomfort.  Allergy testing is a good solution to help you stay away from the plants, medications, foods, and animals that cause your body irritation.    By keeping an accurate journal you’ll be surprised how much better you will feel.   Only you know yourself better then anyone else,  its time to make a change for pain free lifestyle and start living.
