Beat Joint Pain with Warm Water Therapy

Beat Joint Pain with Warm Water Therapy

Instead of living a life of discomfort, there are ways of alleviating joint pain. Although there are medications and vitamins available, there are also natural ways of addressing pain around your legs and arms. If you are suffering from joint pain, then you may benefit from warm water therapy.

Millions of people worldwide suffer from joint pain in their legs and arms. With age, our joints may become stiff and may not operate as efficiently as they can. Although the magnitude of the pain can fluctuate depending on the person, most would agree that joint pain is uncomfortable and they would like to find ways to feel better.

So what can be done? Many people are choosing to use water therapy as a way to address the pain associated with joints. Warm water therapy can be helpful to anyone of all ages, ranging from teenagers to elderly individuals. Warm water therapy can really support aching limbs by reducing the swelling around the affected area. It can also help encourage blood circulation around your joints allowing them to move more freely.

So where can you undergo water therapy? More and more people are looking to install hot tubs in their backyards to combat their joint pain. You do not need a great deal of space for a hot tub and properly trained professionals can install it most quickly. There are also some companies that offer used hot tubs for a fraction of the cost. With a hot tub, you can relax and allow your joints to rest in the comfort of your house. Remember that hot tubs do require regular maintenance so make sure to factor that in if you consider purchasing one for warm water therapy.

If you do not have a hot tub, then you can always soak in a bathtub for 20 to 30 minutes to help soothe your joints. Some also choose to add some Epson salt to help mitigate some of the pain. When sitting in the hot tub or bathtub, make sure to move your legs and arms around to encourage blood flow around the joints. Make sure that the water is not too hot or cold because it can cause other problems to your joints or other parts of your body.

Others choose to undergo warm water therapy in a pool. In order for it to be effective, the pool has to be heated to at least 82 degrees, which can be a financial drain on some pool owners. Other people purchase gym memberships if they do not have access to a pool. At some gyms, they have aquatic classes where trained professionals teach you exercises that address joint pain. If you take these classes a few days a week, you will notice a change around your joints.

If you have some joint pain, consider warm water therapy as a way of feeling better. You should also couple this with proper hydration throughout the day so that you do not become dehydrated during your sessions. Ultimately, if you continue to use warm water therapy, you will be able to walk and complete daily activities with minimal pain and pressure on the joints.
