The TB12 Method Tom Brady New England Patriots Quarterback How to Achieve a Lifetime of Sustained Peak Performance

At 40 Years, Tom is still on Top of the Game; How?

Tom Brady, now at the age of 40 years, has surpassed what many athletes can hope for. In 2017, the New England Patriots quarterback achieved his fifth Super Bowl win and fourth Super Bowl MVP award.

In his book "The TB12 Method: How to Achieve a Lifetime of Sustained Peak Performance." Tom has vividly described how he has managed to remain fit.

Following up on Tom's nutrition, Norah O'Donnell, CBS This Morning co-host, finds out just how he manages his fitness through dietary choices.

According to Tom, his diet consists of 80% vegetables and fruits. Talking about his everyday meals, it is clear that he leans on the plant-based diet. He, however, states that he has nothing against meat, but consumes only enough to a level that reduces inflammation. He gives an example of hemp and almond milk as part of his favorite breakfast.

As he explains his choice of diet, he details that his choice is in line with food that reduces inflammation, as this results in a faster recovery rate, a concern that every athlete faces during the season.

The other aspect that Tom emphasizes is hydration. During exercise and playtime, the body loses a lot of fluids. This makes the muscles tight and dehydrated, hindering peak performance and leaving it vulnerable.

Tom further argues that, though harder muscles are seen as a specimen for a fit person, it is not necessarily true. He argues his case stating that it is those individuals with harder muscles that you find injured and taking a longer recovery period.

In his approach, pliability is the answer. With proper hydration, diet, and maintaining a pliable body, you will be able to limit the impacts of an injury or eliminate it altogether. Tom enjoys working out, and he says that it gets better when you feel good, and that starts with taking good and healthy meals.

Tom's book, now being called "athlete's bible" goes into details that advocate nutrition, recovery, hydration, cognitive fitness, supplementation among other lifestyle choices. It is a book that is not only meant for athletes but everyone who wants to remain fit.
