Men’s Fashion Trends for Fall 2019

For men who enjoy following the seasonal fashion trends, the fall 2019 runway line-ups did not disappoint. From futuristic looks to twists on more traditional men’s fashion, the only word that accurately describes the look of autumn while allowing for subjective taste is “interesting.” Here are some of the trends you’ll see this fall. Whether you choose to include them in your wardrobe is up to you.

Skirts for men

It’s an exciting time in men’s fashion, as gender identity is being put under a microscope and dissected, coming apart at the seams only to be stitched back together in fun and functional pieces. The fall line of skirts for men offers a means for your masculine side to be playful and experimental without worrying you’ll be mistaken for dressing in drag.

Flexible pants

Zippers are helping to transform pants to shorts, skirts and everything in between. The hip play on camping gear—think tents and sleeping bags—makes for versatile looks that straddle sexy and mysterious while still fulfilling the definition of men’s wear.

Knitwear

Cardigans and three-quarter zip pull-overs are getting a softer and more homemade look, but knitwear is even showing up in ties. The breathable stitching makes for great layering but is prepared to fold them to retain their shape; not place on a wire hanger.

Animal prints

From leopard fabrics and tiger stripes on leather jackets and sashes, jungle-themed patterns are popping up in men’s fashion today in more tasteful pieces than in women’s wear in the 1980s.

The color orange

This bubbly hue is shining on runways across the globe, ranging from sweaters and coats to less conspicuous accessories, like hats and sneakers. You can start small—try a nectarine beanie, a pumpkin tie or persimmon sock—and work your way up to the mango shirt with a nice pair of fitted jeans.
