In the past 20 years, no fitness company has had a bigger impact and success than CrossFit. By this point, you’ve heard of CrossFit or know someone that is currently participating in the workouts. For some it’s to create a healthy lifestyle. For others it’s about the supportive community that has been created around them. Below are the top 3 reasons to start CrossFit.

1. A sense of community

One of the biggest factors in determining if you’re going to be successful in your fitness journey is consistent exercise. Exercising is tough and will leave you tired and sore. A lot of times, you’ll try to talk yourself out of it. It can be difficult to find motivation and encouragement just by yourself.

A fitness community is a great way to counteract the lack of motivation and to hold you accountable to achieve your fitness goals. CrossFit does this better than almost any other health company. It’s hard to not find a CrossFit affiliate in the area you live in. If you’re unable to find one in person, they have a great online community as well.

2. A ready-made workout

3. Challenge yourself

The famous quote, “if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you” applies to exercise as well. If you’re not continuing to push yourself by adding resistance or reps, you won’t continue to grow in your fitness journey. CrossFit does a great job of challenging participants with its WOD’s. These workouts can last anywhere from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours.

Their challenges have become so popular that they have carried over outside of CrossFit. One of the challenges called the “Murph” a tribute to Navy Seal Daniel Murphy, has become a memorial day tradition for most exercisers.
