Smile without showing your teeth
For men, pictures of a simple smile are the most attractive. Believe it or not, guys with a non-toothy smile are picked 43% more.
Look at the camera
People want to see the full profile of your face, so select a picture where you’re looking right at the lens.
Be alone
People want to see what you look like, not your buddies. Your profile picture should be of you. Just you.
Consider black and white
A small handful of people turn their profile photo black and white, but those with this effect are 106 times more likely to get a ‘like’ on their photo.
And now for the photo faux pas
Don’t wear sunglasses
Your profile picture shouldn’t be one that includes shades. It covers your eyes, which isn’t ideal.
Skip the Snapchat filters
A black and white photo is about as crazy as you should get with a picture. Leave the Snapchat filters for texting or sharing with friends.
Don’t share pictures from the bathroom
For some reason, people think it’s a good idea to snap a picture of themselves in the bathroom mirror. Take as many bathroom selfies as you want, but do not use them as your profile picture.
