5 Simple Ways to Keep Your Partner Happy

Don’t let your partner get lost in the daily grind of work, family obligations or your obsession of TV binge watching. She might be wondering if you care at all anymore. It doesn’t mean you have to shower her with daily gifts, but find small actions you can do to make days special when she least expects it. Here is a short list of enjoyable ideas to make her smile and hug up on you.

1. Play Her Musical Choices

As she gets ready in the morning, turn on her favorite songs and blast the music in the bedroom. Dance your way through the songs. Sing loud and be a little crazy. Music will increase  her endorphins and dopamine boosting her feelings of happiness. 

2. Say Nice Things to Her

Find nice compliments for her, not just the usual “Good job!”. Praise her for her ability to lead at the fundraiser, the courage to stand up to the bully at work or that she is patient with your elderly mother. Tell her you love the way she laughs out loud even if she snorts.

3. Kiss Her 

Grab her at unexpected times and kiss her. Tell her she is sexy, even when she might have crazy hair and no make-up. Always kiss her goodnight.

4. Listen Carefully

A Psychology Today article by Diana Raab Ph.D. points out “By listening carefully when someone speaks, we’re telling them that we care about what they’re saying. It’s also important to remember that listening is contagious. When we listen to others, then chances are they will be more inclined to listen to us.”

5. Do The Gross Chore

Dig the junk out of the garbage disposal. Scrub the toilet. Change the poopy diaper. Throw away the stinky fridge leftovers. Do it without being asked and don’t seek praise. Just do it and surprise her.
