Stress can lead to overeating and eating unhealthy foods. This will lead to weight gain that causes more stress. To beat bad eating habits, plan ahead by meal prepping and most importantly don’t skip meals. Skipping meals will starve the body of nutrients it needs to function properly. Snacks are a great way to make sure you don’t skip meals. 

  • Exercise

As discussed earlier exercise has a ton of benefits but it’s best benefit is removing stress hormones. Exercise sessions don’t have to be performed in 30 to 60 minute increments to be beneficial. Sessions of 5 to 10 minutes of exercise throughout the day will be as beneficial. 

  • Sleep

Sleep is the most important way to reduce stress. Sleep allows the body to recover and repair from a hard day’s work. Without recovery the body will continue to add more stress hormones. 8 hours is recommended to get the most out of sleep. If sleeping 8 hours is a difficult task try taking short naps after work to help catch up on lost sleep.
