3 Exercise Tips to Improve Prostate Health

Whether you are diagnosed with an enlarged prostate or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or just want a healthy prostate, there are ways to improve your prostate health naturally.

Something as simple as exercising can improve your prostate health and prevent diseases that could potentially be fatal for men.

So limber up as we show you some of the best exercises to improve the health of your prostate.

1. Yoga

According to a study, researchers discovered that yoga could improve muscle strength and ultimately help strengthen pelvic muscles to improve prostate health. Here are some yoga poses you can try out if you have BPH or enlarged prostate:

  • Hero pose

The hero pose is a seated position that helps release pelvic tension around the prostate.

To do this pose, you need to kneel and lower your bottom.

Then, rest your hands on your thighs with the palms down.

Try to sit as straight as possible and hold the pose for up to 5 minutes.

  • Cobbler pose

The cobbler pose is a simple pose where you sit on the ground with your feet together and your knees apart.

The challenge is to spread your knees away from each other while keeping the bottom of your feet touching.

2. Kegel exercises

These exercises are also designed to strengthen the muscles of your pelvic floor.

Although Kegel exercises are typically recommended for women, men with prostate issues may also benefit from these exercises.

You can tighten your pelvis by urinating and trying to stop midstream to gain control over your bladder.

If you can do that, you can focus on the muscles you used to hold and release and repeat the same movement for strengthening.

3. Regular exercises

Doing traditional exercises can help you reduce your weight and ultimately help lower the risks of prostate problems.

In addition, because exercise can balance your hormones, it can reduce BPH symptoms and other prostate-related illnesses.
