4 Ways to Start in CrossFit Training at Home

Anyone can add mileage to their health routine by getting started in CrossFit training.

It is a myth that this type of exercise is for “serious athletes only.” CrossFit training is the perfect way for beginners or those who are easily bored or lack motivation, to get started in exercising.

What is CrossFit Training?

CrossFit uses movements that people do every day in various tasks and puts them together into a high-intensity workout.

It is a workout that focuses on strength and conditioning using exercise intervals that switch the focus of the exercise.

One thing everyone considering CrossFit needs to do is discuss their plans with their doctor before they start.

4 Ways to Start CrossFit Training at Home

  1. Invest in some hand and ankle weights. These are fairly cheap to buy and you will only need two of each. Start using them with repetitious exercises for five-minute intervals. Do one exercise for five minutes before switching.
  2. Do the bodywork. Bodywork doesn’t require any equipment unless you want to install a pullup bar in your home. These exercises are push-ups, pull-ups, air squats, and situps.
  3. One part of CrossFit training is to build endurance. That is where running, jumping, and swinging come in. You can challenge yourself by running 400-meters at a park or on your street. You can then follow that up with a jumping rope and ending it by swinging a baseball bat 21 times to the left and right.
  4. Building intensity. This is where you combine some of what you’ve already been doing into a timed workout. Here is where it matters how many exercises you can do at a specific time. You do several rounds, one after another.

CrossFit beginners can learn to do these basic exercises and intervals safely as long as they take the time to work on the proper form.

Once you start doing these workouts at home, you may feel confident enough to join a gym or a group to keep you accountable and add some competition.
