Will CrossFit Cure My Obesity?

What Is CrossFit?

CrossFit is an intense workout program that focuses on performing numerous strength-training and aerobic exercises, such as push-ups, sit-ups, sprints, power cleans, and pull-ups.

There are hundreds of exercises available to the participants and these exercises are usually very tough, with very little rest between one and the next. CrossFit exercises are merged into “workouts of the day” and generally lasts for 5 to 15 minutes.

Individual performances are monitored and graded to measure progress.

CrossFit And Fat Loss

CrossFit can be a great tool to combat obesity. If you consistently and frequently perform the exercises and make the right modifications, then you can expect to see positive changes in your body.

Nevertheless, CrossFit should not be regarded as the sole agent for reducing obesity because exercise alone is not enough to achieve a significant reduction in body fat level – it must be combined with good nutrition.

You may think that since CrossFit exercises are tough, they must be very effective in burning a lot of fat and calories. Well, this is not always the case.

You must keep in mind that while these workouts are highly intense, they are usually completed within a short time.

According to an Ace-Sponsored Research, men are expected to burn between 110 and 170 calories per session of CrossFit workouts, while females are expected to burn between 60 and 120 calories.

In the grand scheme of things, this is quite impressive considering the short time each session is carried out. But, you would need a significant calorie loss to achieve a notable reduction in obesity.

If you are a healthy and active person who can cope well with high-intensity workouts, then CrossFit in combination with adequate nutrition might be a good way to lose excess fat.

If you have any major medical conditions, you should consult your health practitioner before signing up for any fitness program.
